Light Coal, du noir nait la lumière est un film de danse expérimental. Ce travail est parti d’un projet chorégraphique expérimentant le matériau du charbon avec le corps. Ce film traite l’image par le clair-obscur, du noir et de la lumière, qui réalise un jeu de correspondance entre le charbon et le corps des performeurs.
Le charbon, produit d’une lente sédimentation, évoque un univers minier révolu, une tradition ouvrière. Cette trace écologique et cette industrialisation ont bouleversé nos modes de vie. Ce rapport à l’histoire et au temps nous renvoie à son aspect géologique sur des milliers d’années.
Matière courante, presque banale, le charbon est traité ici dans son aspect brut. Il contraste avec le corps des performeurs. Ce dialogue entre ces deux protagonistes dépeint une fresque où se pose la question de l’influence de l’un sur l’autre, de l’écosystème qui les lie. Que révèle cet environnement hostile ? Quels échos fait-il avec notre temps contemporain ?
Le noir de signifiant, devient signifié et révèle une foule de paradoxes qui lui sont associés : symbole d’incertitudes et de sombre présage, il est aussi révélateur des lumières et peut aller jusqu’à représenter une forme de fécondité.
Le charbon, matière inerte et froide, peut en s’embrasant devenir un concentré de chaleur et d’énergie. Le charbon est dessinateur des corps par sa manipulation et la pellicule de matière qu’il dépose. Le travail du costume en charbon accompagne la performativité des corps tout en étant scénographie et pièce indépendante en soi.
Light Coal, propose une ouverture des champs sémantiques du physique, de la perception, du traitement de la matière charbon et du corps par la l’image. Ceux- ci se traduit par une contemplation et un travail performatif.

Light Coal, from black light is born, is an experimental dance film. This work started from a choreographic project experimenting the coal material associated to the body. This film treats the image by black and light, which realises a dialogue between the coal and the performeur body’s.
Coal, a product of slow sedimentation, evokes a past mining universe, a labor tradition. This ecological trace and this industrialization has changed our way of life. This relationship to history and time refers to its geological appearance over thousands of years.
A common, almost banal material, coal is treated here in its raw aspect. It contrasts with the performers’ body. This dialogue between these two protagonists depicts a fresco in which the question of the influence of one on the other, of the ecosystem that binds them together, arises. What does this hostile environment reveal? What echoes does it make with our contemporary times?
The black colour becomes signified and reveals a host of paradoxes associated with it: a symbol of uncertainty and a dark portent, it also reveals the light and can even represent a form of fertility.
Charcoal, an inert and cold material, can, by blazing, become a concentrate of heat and energy. Coal is the body designer by its manipulation and the film of matter that it deposits.
An aesthetic writing of the image has been achieved by mounting and processing the light. The work on the charcoal costume accompanies the performativity of the bodies while being the scenography and independent piece in itself.
Light Coal, proposes an opening of the semantic fields of the body’s, the perception, and the treatment of the coal matter and the body by the image. They evoke contemplation and performative work.
