Le parcours d’étude de Baptiste c’est fait autant dans le champ des arts plastiques que dans la chorégraphie : Conservatoire municipal de Mont-Saint-Aignan, École Supérieure d’Art et Design de Rouen (ESADHaR), Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles (ArBA), atelier Art dans l’espace public (AESP) et Institut Supérieur des Arts et des Chorégraphies (ISAC).
En tant que performeur et collaborateur, il a pu travailler, entre autres, sur les projets de Lorenzo De Angelis (De la force exercée 2017), Pierre Droulers (Dimanche 2018, Les beaux-jours 2019, Occupations 2021), Sophie Perez & Xavier Boussiron - cie Le zerep (Y manque plus que l’orchestre 2019), Doria Garcia (The Sinthome Score 2015), Yves Noël Genod (L’amour 2016), Christophe Haleb – cie La zouze (Hnonym 2014), Laurie Peschier-Pimont (Le travail de l’art 2014).

Sa démarche artistique se singularise par la relation entre les arts plastiques et le chorégraphique : il invite des artistes (danseurs, performeurs, plasticiens, etc) dans sa création pour élaborer avec eux une écriture commune sur le sujet du projet.
Par une méthode de composition et de dynamique de groupe, il propose d’expérimenter de nouvelles écritures par des approches théoriques et sa confrontation par la pratique du corps. Des études de contextes, d’espaces sociétaux et historiques donnent lieu à des pièces hybrides.
L’écriture chorégraphique est abordée par l’histoire du corps (celui du danseur·se-performeur·se et plus largement son inscription dans l’Histoire).

Actuellement son travail se développe autant en France qu’en Belgique.
Après plusieurs projets collectifs de pièces performatives et d’expositions, il signe sa première pièce Tiger Balm en 2017. Il présente sa deuxième Ressac en 2023, et lance sa prochaine Gymnasium. pour 2024-2025.
Il obtient la bourse à l'écriture Beaumarchais-SACD pour sa pièce Ressac en 2022.
​Sa démarche chorégraphique a été soutenue et suivie dans le cadre de la formation « Édition spéciale : auteur chorégraphe » qu’il réalisa au Centre national de la Danse en 2019.

After several years of experience in contemporary theatre and dance, Baptiste Conte began studying at the graduates School for Art and Design in Rouen, France (ESADaR). There, he started to develop his performative practice, and was granted a Master’s degree in Fine Arts (DNSEP). Continuing his installation work and his exploration of the body, Baptiste went to Brussels, where he attended the Graduate Institute for Arts and Choreographies (ISAC) and the Art in Public Space program (AEsP) at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (ARBA-ESA).
As a performer and collaborator, he was able to work, among others, on the projects of Lorenzo De Angelis (De la force exercée 2017), Pierre Droulers (Dimanche 2018, Les beaux-jours 2019, Occupations 2021), Sophie Perez & Xavier Boussiron - cie Le zerep (Y ma,nque plus que l’orhestre2019), Doria Garcia (The Sinthome Score 2015), Yves Noël Genod (L'amour 2016), Christophe Haleb - cie La zouze (Hnonym 2014), Laurie Peschier-Pimont (Le travail de l’art 2014).
His artistic approach is distinguished by the relationship between the plastic arts and the choreography: as choreographic curator, he invites artists (dancers, performers, visual artists, etc.) in his creation to develop with them a common writing on the subject of the project.
Through a method of composition and group dynamics, he proposes to experiment with new writings through theoretical approaches and its confrontation through the practice of the body. Studies of contexts, societal and historical spaces give rise to hybrid pieces.
The choreographic writing is approached by the history of the body (that of the dancer-performer and more broadly his inscription in history)

After several collective projects of performative pieces and exhibitions, he signed his first piece Tiger Balm in 2017. He began his second Ressac in 2023, and begin a new piece Gymnasium to 2024/2025.
He was awarded the Beaumarchais-SACD writing grant for his play Ressac in 2022.
His choreographic approach was supported and followed as part of the "Special Edition: choreographic author" training course he carried out at the National Center for Dance in 2019.
